The counter argument I get for weight training is, “I don’t want to get huge.”  My response is that unless you plan on spending hours in the gym lifting weights, eating a ton of calories, and taking illegal supplements; you’re not going to get “huge.”  You will get that fit look you want long before you get “huge.”

Research shows that weight training has a positive affect on your nervous system and your hormones.  Two of the responses your body has to weight lifting is increased bone density (great way to help prevent osteoporosis) and increased muscle mass.

As I stated above, you won’t get “huge” unless you do certain things.  But, you do WANT to increase muscle mass in your body.  Here’s why – Your body burns more calories to maintain that muscle.  Muscle is more expensive than fat in the calorie world.  So, the more muscle you have…
